To Be Knowledgeable is to Be Childlike, A Saying

How to Interpret this Saying

Before the barrage of challenges in adulthood and the supremely high cost of freedom, I thought education in the formal, curriculum confined pedagogical sense, was a surefire way to put food on the table, provide for stylish clothes and an allowance to life’s plethora of entertainment choices.  What I realized in acquiring a college education is that knowledge and information accumulation is far different than adhering to assignments in a curriculum based lecture or regurgitation of facts or figures on exams. Knowledge is the byproduct of reading, watching and doing experiments in the things that spark the child’s curiosity within you. If you love to write, write. If you love to draw, draw. In whatever it is that sparks the childlike curiosity within you, do it!  When you do that watch the database of knowledge and information for that particular desire grow beyond the depths you thought possible. Also, pay attention to the self-teaching mechanisms within you take hold, and quantify the amount of time you spend in learning and applying, watching and applying, experimenting and applying… all for FREE!
