Father’s Day Poem from Child: Proud to Call You Dad

Father’s day poem from child:  recalling the moments growing up, dad was a figure of grand stature.  I looked up to him so much.  I’m thankful for what he did for me.

by Joshua Cintron

Dad, you were a building
casting  a shadow over the

street I walked when I was child,
shading me from peril of this

world, of myself, constantly looking
out for me.  Like the seasons that

come and go, the sun rotated from behind you,
and so did your love upon me; allowing

me to shine — to grow into a productive
adult with a sense  of purpose, drive

and the will to succeed.  I thank you for
being the man I’m proud to call father.

Happy Father’s Day!
